¹⁷ “But when he^[a] came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired workers have an abundance of food,^[b] and I am dying here from hunger! ¹⁸ I will set out and^[c] go to my father and will say to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight!^{[d] 19} I am no longer worthy to be called your son! Make me like one of your hired workers.’
